DropVox requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and an Apple Silicon Mac (M1, M2, M3, or later). WhisperKit is optimized specifically for Apple's Neural Engine, so Intel Macs are not supported.

DropVox offers 5 models: Tiny (75MB, fastest), Base (145MB, fast), Small (470MB, balanced), Medium (1.5GB, accurate), and Large (3GB, most accurate). Larger models are slower but more accurate. Free tier uses Base; Pro unlocks all models.

Click the Apple menu > About This Mac. If the chip says M1, M2, M3, M4 (or any variant like M1 Pro, M2 Max, etc.), you're good. If it says Intel, DropVox won't work on your machine. You also need macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Yes! After the initial model download, all transcription happens locally on your Mac. No internet required. You can transcribe on a plane, in the subway, or anywhere without Wi-Fi.
Yes. Each Pro license can be activated on up to 3 machines. If you need to move your license to a new Mac, you can deactivate it from the old one or contact support.
